Dear IAB Community,
The 2026 Digital Advertising and Ad Tech Industry Talent Review found Australia's market is restructuring around senior talent as entry-level roles have almost disappeared, falling to just 1% of available vacancies. The report also covers workforce composition by role and state, gender representation trends, the timeline for AI-driven role impacts, and capability gaps employers are struggling to fill. IAB Australia will use the findings to inform its training, mentoring and capability-building programs across AI, measurement, privacy and digital advertising fundamentals. More information in the media release and the full report is available for IAB members.
Well Melbourne, what a turn out for our Ad Tech & Ops Summit yesterday! Resources that were shared on the day will be sent to attendees next week, but you can check out the photo gallery now. We are back in Melbourne next week for the Affiliate and Partnership Marketing Summit – this is a smaller event aimed to drive industry discussion.
Then the event that absolutely every business involved in digital advertising needs to attend, the Data and Privacy Summit, is on in Sydney on the afternoon of the 17th June and will include practical sessions covering the latest policy and regulatory developments, real-world approaches to identity and privacy challenges, and an industry panel unpacking what this all means for the market. Our Data Council will also host a Back-to-Basics session on data definitions, collection, collaboration and activation. Member organisations receives two free tickets and there are very reasonably priced extra tickets and non-member tickets.
Are you involved in commerce or retail media? If you buy, sell or facilitate we would like 10 minutes of your time to help the local industry in our Commerce and Retail Media State of the Nation research – you also get the chance to win some dollars and attend the Sydney or Melbourne Commerce and Retail Media Summits.
Tonight is the UnLtd Adland Bailout, at the time of publication our very own Tiff Hill is just shy of making her $1500 bail. Youth incarceration is everyone’s business, if you can, please donate to help break the cycle.
A big warm welcome to our newest members Fabulate and Silverpush – it is great to see both companies already getting involved.
More resources and a selection of industry job opportunities below.
‘Til next week,
Gai
