Dear IAB Community,
I am looking forward to seeing many of you next week at the inaugural Discovery: AI & Search Summit. Ahead of it, check out our Commerce and Discovery report with Pureprofile, showing Australian shoppers now draw on a wide mix of sources before buying, from search and retailer sites to reviews, social media, loyalty programs and AI tools. Six in ten now use AI at least sometimes when shopping to compare prices and narrow options, while 61% discover products through influencers and creators they follow. Search remains dominant, used by 92% of shoppers, though the experience is moving beyond links to reviews, images and AI summaries.
We've just announced most sessions and speakers for our MeasureUp event on 2nd September which will cover clarity and consistency in modern measurement, moving beyond attribution to prove incremental sales impact, building brands for commercial outcomes in the agentic search era, cross-media effectiveness and fragmentation, proving ROI in an evolving AI marketing ecosystem, 10 years of cross-media campaign evidence, fixing the attention gap, turning cultural trends into brand insights, and what drives impact in creator marketing.
The IAB and OMA are partnering again with a half-day conference, Powering DOOH, covering industry growth and automation, market updates and state-of-the-nation research, ROI case studies, and omnichannel amplification, bringing together the platforms, publishers, agencies and brands shaping programmatic out-of-home in Australia.
Ipsos iris industry-endorsed ratings for June shows Sports audiences across mobile, PC and tablet devices grew +8.1% month-on-month to 14.1 million people, as the FIFA World Cup, NBA finals, AFL and Wimbledon drove Australians online for their sporting fix. News also remained a powerhouse category, reaching 21.6 million Australians, 96% of the online population, who spent over three hours engaging with news during the month. More information in the media release and clients now have access to all data.
More resources and some brand-new job opportunities below.
'Til next week,
Gai
