This week we released the third wave of our Retail Media State of the Nation research, providing updated insights into investment growth, barriers, measurement needs, and future opportunities. Retail media is gaining strong momentum, but we're at a pivotal point—greater structure and collaboration are now essential. The IAB Australia Retail Media Council will continue to lead industry initiatives to help support this growth.
We also launched the 2025 Australian and NZ Commerce Report, produced with Pureprofile. It explores evolving commerce habits and considerations, highlighting the expanding ways consumers discover and evaluate products. The report reveals striking generational differences in online shopper behaviour—particularly around convenience, rewards, sustainability, and transparency.
Both reports were released at the Sydney Commerce and Retail Media Summit yesterday—check out the photo gallery, and we'll also be presenting them in Melbourne next Wednesday.
That afternoon also in Melbourne we will be holding the annual Ad Tech and Ops Summit which will include a panel exploring the impact AI may have on roles across our industry. Ahead of that session, we'd love your input—please take 3 minutes to complete our survey on AI usage and attitudes.
