Dear IAB Community,
The first IAB Australia board meeting of the year was a busy one, reviewing the market and IAB initiatives that can help support, develop and showcase digital advertising in Australia. Congratulations to Suzie Cardwell from Nine and Sarah Myers from REA for being elected chair and deputy respectively who will work along with the rest of the board directors on behalf of IAB members and the industry.
The first IAB Australia events for 2025 kick off over the next two weeks with our Sydney and Melbourne Audio Summits. Whether you're investing in streaming audio or podcast advertising, looking to understand the digital media mix and marketer expectations, or hoping to connect with the digital ad industry, be sure to grab your tickets.
At last year's Audio Summit, we released Crime Pays—a research study with Neuro-Insight on how audiences engage with true crime podcast content. These insights have been widely used in the market, and this week, Mi3 published an article on how Explore Worldwide, in collaboration with Eardrum and Earmax, invested in true crime podcasts and achieved outstanding campaign success.
Key media, marketing, and advertising industry bodies have joined forces to launch the Psychosocial Safety Code of Conduct, a crucial new framework designed to create safer, healthier work environments across the advertising supply chain. This landmark initiative represents a united commitment to setting a new standard for workplace well-being while ensuring compliance with evolving Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) obligations related to psychosocial risks. A webinar will be held on March 12 to explain this important new code.
The latest Seat at the Table article from The Women in Programmatic Network features three female ad tech leaders over 40, exploring their under-representation in the industry and the discrimination older professionals can face.
More resources including updates from Zitcha and SBS below as well as a raft of great job openings.
'Til next week
