Dear IAB Community,
Last week the February industry endorsed digital audience ratings were released revealing an uplift in people using career related sites both for job hunting and skills development. News sites and apps continue to attract large audiences, with 20.6 million Australians consuming news content in February driven by a range of stories garnering attention including politicians behaving badly, cost of living silver lining of tax cuts plus wars and storms.
If you don't have tickets for next week's Powering DOOH event the window is closing with over 90% of tickets already gone. We will be covering all things programmatic DOOH in this half day event in collaboration with the OMA.
The next podcast from our Audio Summit has just dropped. In this episode we hear from Ralph van Dijk from Eardrum and Andy Maxwell from Earmax Media with advice for brands that have not previously invested heavily in audio advertising on how they can develop audio creative assets that suit their brand. Video recordings of the Sydney Audio Summit are now also available for viewing.
We continue to see concerning stats around the levels of loneliness in society and I have many discussions with younger people in our industry around difficulty in developing their professional network outside of their own organisations. For anyone in Sydney looking to connect with industry folks in a welcoming, relaxed, intellectually challenging and fun environment, I would highly recommend attending one of the Debate Club events. The next event being held on 18th April will be a cracker, debating data versus creative. Attendance is free but registration is essential.
This week in our new member Q&A we hear from Michael Levine from Uber Advertising about their business and plans in the Australian market.
More resources and a great range of industry job openings below.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing long weekend.
'Til next week
