Digital's Market Share on Rise | Viewability | New Creative Guidelines

Dear IAB Community,

It has been another busy month at IAB Australia, with numerous reports and research studies completed and more underway. IAB has established a Viewability Taskforce, which presently is working on a whitepaper to be released this month, and they intend to look into a broader range of ad-effectiveness measures in the near future.

In late October we published the most recent total figures for the entire Australian advertising market showing digital at 48.4% for 1H 2016, putting the industry in a strong position to be half the market this calendar year. Screens are setting the pace, with 73% dollars in the market going to digital, free-to-air and subscription TV.

IAB also published new HTML5 compatible creative guidelines for mobile and display advertising. With updated file size limits and guidance across a range of factors, these refreshed guidelines will help in the building of immersive experiences utilising HTML5 technology.

Also this past month, the IAB Affiliate Marketing Working Group published the Affiliate Marketing Handbook, the first industry handbook for the local market. This great resource is the first effort of the group, with more to come.

It's Your IAB. Get Involved.

CEO, IAB Australia
