Online Ad Spend Results for FY 2016 | New Chairs Announced at Council REFRESH Dear IAB Community, On 23 August we hosted a gathering at PwC in Sydney to reveal the results of the Australian Online Advertising Expenditure Report for the June quarter, containing the financial year 2016 results. $6.8 billion is a big number, but the news is much bigger than that. It's the growth of particular categories like automotive, real estate, entertainment and FMCG. I was particularly engaged by how FMCG food brands are stepping up their use of online video. What I'm really interested in is how we demonstrate the unique benefits of digital, such as the richness of the experience (as with 360-video, AR and VR), personalisation, localization, data-driven engagement and beyond. We also held the first IAB Council REFRESH on 1 Sept., and gathered 50 of Australia's best digital minds at AdRoll's offices to work on 2 'P's: - Purpose – the role of each council
- Plan – the work being planned.
We also announced four new chairs: - Technology Council – Ben Sharp, Adroll
- Video Council – Suzie Cardwell, MCN
- Mobile Council – Rick Knott, Celtra
- Measurement Council – Heather White, NewsCorp.
These amazing leaders join Fairfax's Jon Moffat from the Standards and Guidelines Council and Pandora's Rick Gleave on the Audio Council to drive the nation's digital agenda and move the industry forward. I have recently completed my First 50 tour with IAB stakeholders (and now going beyond 50), and have run several digital immersion days with industry leaders. What I really need is input from agency folk and marketers into our IAB Community Survey. You can help us shape the future IAB. Click here to take the Survey. Don't forget: It's your IAB. Get involved. Vijay Solanki CEO, IAB Australia ceo@iabaustralia.com.au |
