Dear IAB Community,
The September update of the IAB US 2025 Outlook Study has revised US ad spend growth down to +5.7% (from +7.3% earlier in the year) as tariff concerns and broader macroeconomic headwinds weigh on budgets. Nearly half of buyers are reducing spend in trade-sensitive sectors such as automotive, retail, and consumer electronics, shifting investment toward performance-driven channels including social and CTV. Despite the softer outlook, social, CTV, and retail media remain the fastest-growing areas, with retail media still forecast to expand by +13.2% in 2025.
Customer acquisition and repeat purchases continue to be top priorities, reinforcing the industry's focus on measurable outcomes. All previous Australian revenue report and data files are available for IAB Australia members, and the September quarter report will be released in mid-November.
Most speakers for the IAB Brisbane Market Update are now confirmed, and tickets are moving quickly. It's fantastic to see a strong mix of talent from Queensland alongside leaders traveling from Sydney and Melbourne to connect with the local market.
We've also collated all major IAB Australia projects, spanning 12 councils and working groups. With over 300 industry leaders contributing, these initiatives are shaping resources for the market, sharing best practice, and building valuable industry networks.
Below you'll find a selection of member resources from Quora, Mars United and Acast, along with the latest job openings.
'Til next week
